Boone picked us up at 10 this morning which was nice. We went to the school where his wife, Ginny, teaches. They have kindergarten through middle school. They also have a pre-school as well which is for 2, 3, and 4, year olds. Pat and I went into most of the middle school class rooms and spoke with the kids. We taught conversational English which the kids really liked. We didn't get any pictures except of the little ones who were napping. All thosed ages 2 - kindergarten have a mandatory nap time of 2 hours. After we visited the middle school we went into Ginny's kindergarten class while they napped. She asked Pat a lot of questions about the school system in america. I went and helped her teachers aid make flowers out of the plastic milk carton wrappers. They were easy and fun to make. Now I have a new idea to bring back to the senior center!
Boone told us about some of the fruit they eat here. First he told us about durian. I've heard of it and knew that it smells like poop. I told him I would try it if he ate a whole one. Pat said he wouldn't try it. :) Boone also told us about mangosteen. While at the school, his wife brought out some for us. I've found my new favorite fruit. It was so wonderful. It has a pit inside and I can't explains the flavor.... All I know is I am going to eat my weight in them while I'm here! He also said we have to try the pomelo as well, which I've tried before in the states but will try here because I'm sure it will be wonderful.
The white part is the flesh that you eat.
