January 2, 2013

After going to sleep so late, about 1 ish, we slept in until 9. It was absolutely wonderful. Pat woke up with a full blown cold. He was coughing his head off and had a horrible runny nose. It was pretty sad. We asked if we could check out late but they wanted 500 baht so we decided to just check out at noon. They would let us leave our bags there so we gladly did. We packed all our stuff for Koh Lanta in our 3 small string backpacks. We didn't want to lug all our stuff with us.

We headed out for the remainder of our time as our Night Train would be leaving at 6:30 p.m. We wanted to buy a hard case luggage to take all our stuff home. On our walk to the large mall we found a wonderful surprise. Pat was so happy ... See for yourself!

Oh my, what large breasticles you have!!

We found some some luggage and Pat haggled with the lady about the price. He loves to haggle .... Of course it's pink but he didn't mind.

We had lunch and then headed back to the hotel that was holding our luggage. When we come back to Bangkok we wanted to stay there again but they were full. They were gracious enough to keep our luggage while we are gone but want us to keep checking to see if there is a cancellation. We'll definitely do that.

Once we got to the train station we found what platform we needed and then looked around for food to take on the train. We knew we might not get anything like before. So guess what we got? Brenna, close your ears ... KFC and Dunkin Donuts. Yep, that's what we got. We did get water to wash it down with. :)

I was grateful that the night train was better than our last two experiences with the train and bus. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. The toilet was nasty but I've gotten good at hovering. Try doing that on a train not missing when the train is swaying back and forth!

Pat went right to sleep about 9 and I stayed awake and listened to my book, 11-22-63 by Stephen King. I finally went to bed about 11.
